Mangaluru : In an accident between a car and scooter a woman who was pillion-riding lost her life at Thokkottu flyover on May 20, Thursday.

The deceased woman is Vasanthi Nair (45), a resident of Kumpala Ashraya Colony.

It is said, Her daughter Shreeja who has suffered grievous injuries has been rushed to the hospital.

The mishap occurred when Vasanthi was on way to Jeppinamogaru to visit her mother. The car was heading towards Talapady.

The car driver reportedly lost control over the car which rammed into the median and landed on the other side eventually hitting the scooter.

The impact of the collision was such that Vasanthi was thrown off guard and fell on the road. She died on the spot.

The car driver Shamith has been taken into custody by the police for questioning.
