Vitla: A backward village, Manila, has a Mahaluxmi temple which attracts thousands of devotees in Vitla region, where an achiever, Mohandas Swamiji, ably assisted by Vedmurthi Ganapthi Bhat Kuluvalu, have together created a spiritual revolution among people.
A 48-day massive Sri Luxmi Pooja was performed as instructed by Nithyananda Swamiji Bhagwan, with Kanakadhara Yaga (sacrifice) and Balabhojana (feast for children) daily over 48 days. Besides, daily kumkumarchana worship also was performed to receive the wealth goddess on Vara Mahaluxmi Vrata Puja / day after, on Friday with a record 2 crores of such performances done already, for women welfare. The flowers for offerings were picked only from natural surroundings around the holy temple here.
The culmination day of this dedicated spiritual activity is due on Friday, with Dhanwanthi Homa, Ashtaluxmi yaga and luxmi Pooja on a mass scale for married women (Sumangali).
The Guru presents every married woman in Kumkumarchana Seva and Vrata Puja (vowed worship), a saree, a blouse, kumkum (red tilak) and “Vayana Dana” with bangles to wear.
Cultural activities such as Bharata Dances, Yakshagana, and devotional music, will be a part of this Vara Mahaluxmi Pooja programme, with students of Balakrishna Manjeshwar and other teachers taking part after the religious performances and a community feast at the village temple grounds.
