studentsMangalore : The students of First Grade Government College,  Balmatta in association with Akhila Bharathiya Vidhyarthi Parishath organized a protest rally demanding state government to immediately appoint guest lecturers.

The rally was organized from Jyothi Circle to DC Office on June 25, Tuesday.

Addressing the protestors at the DC Office, Rakshitha, 1st year BCom student said that the college has commenced on June 17, but single lecturer has not attended the class till today.

studentsShe also said that the lecturers are supposed to complete their syllabus in 16 weeks for the semester exam, but here the guests’ lecturers are still not appointed.

Rakshitha said that the college does not have permanent lecturers and the college was functioning with the teaching of guests’ lecturers. But this year the state government had invited applications from the guest lecturers through online and has not appointed any lectures till now. These problems of lecturers made the students coming from distant place useless coming to college.

studentsABVP state secretary Ramesh said that the students are coming to college from 12 days and are going home soon because none of the lecturers have taken even a single class. The students are being suffered from 12 days and ABVP condemn this decision of state government.

The students cried slogans against Education Minister and State Government.

Later also handed over the memorandum to Education Minister through DC N Prakash.students
