Moodabidri: ‘success is not about having, it’s about living’ said Gaur Gopal Das, motivational speaker and international life coach. He was addressing on the special guest talk on ‘Secrets of success’ organised by Rostrum, a Speakers’ club of Alva’s Education Foundation here on Saturday.
‘Success doesn’t mean achievement; its definition keeps on changing. Through the changing times success achieved in the previous stages becomes irrelevant and the achievements should never be considered as success in present time. Your talent and skills may take you to certain heights but the attitude filled within you is what takes you to the higher destiny’ he added.
He revealed three keys of success as 3 C’s. ‘Choosing to be better version of oneself, change with the changing time, connect as a support system’. Monk propagated to stop comparing ourselves with others and start competing within yourselves this will lead you to success. Failures are part of life they should be taken as positive steps towards success, he exhorted.
While explaining the necessity of adopting the changes, he said, ‘When Face book acquired Microsystems; Mark Zuckerberg didn’t replace Sun Microsystems’s sign. Instead, he flipped it over and put Face book’s name on the front. The Sun logo reminds employees to stay motivated. It demonstrates what can happen when you’re on top but fail to innovate’.
Gopal Das said businesses should not be just about making money but also add value to the world. “Gucci suits won’t bring you satisfaction till you bring a smile on someone’s face. The good wishes of the person can do more for you,” he said.
The great names of today, Amitha Bacchan, Rajnikanth, Deepa Malik, Jonty Rhodes are suffered in their initial days, but they never gave up. He added and said, ‘’when you never gave up, you go up.
His new book ‘life’s amazing secrets’ was released during the event. He wished the gathering with tulu language saying ‘serina matheregla solmelu, yank niklen thudh masth khushiandu, yenk jasthi tulu barpujji’.
AEF Chairman Dr. M Mohan Alva, Jain Math’s priest Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji, Trustee Vivek Alva were present among others.
