Mangaluru: Why we need universities with anti-national stands and it is high time to think what would be the reason for such environment in few universities of the country, Karnataka Rajya Mahavidyalaya Shikshaka Sangha (KRMSS) State President Dr. Raghu Akmanji opined.
Presiding over the Karthavya Bhodha Diwas and Syndicate Felicitation program organised by Mangalore University Division of Karnataka Rajya Mahavidyalaya Shikshaka Sangha (KRMSS) at Dr. Shivarama Karantha Sabhabhavana of University College Mangalore on Wednesday, he said that teachers have the capacity to change environments in colleges and universities. KRMSS is recognizing the hard work of teachers and motivating them, he added.
Inaugurating the program, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya said that nation-building is possible only when we show great ability in any post, when we have a sense of duty. “Officers, six government appointees and two syndicate members nominated by the governor, have played a major role in the achievement of Mangalore University,” he said.
Meanwhile, on behalf of KRMSS felicitated VC Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, Registrar Dr. Kishore Kumar C K, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. Raju Krishna Chalannavar, former registrar (Evaluation) Prof. Dr. P L Dharma, Finance Officer Dr. Sangappa Y, Syndicate members Ramesh K, Ravichandra PM were felicitated.
Ramesh K and Ravichandra PM who spoke on receiving the award said that we have worked hard to maintain pro-student and pro-teacher environment and praised the positive attitude of the VC and officers. Registrar Dr. Kishore Kumar CK said that the members of the syndicate have helped to solve the problems within the framework of the law without harming the dignity of the university.
Former registrar (Evaluation) Prof. P L Dharma said that the present syndicate of MU helped the university in its difficult times. “The syndicate members who worked selflessly gave me courage in tough times,” he added.
Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai, Principal of Evening College Dr. Lakshmi Devi were present among others. Kannada department Head Dr. Madhava MK welcomed and delivered introductory remarks. KRMSS MU division Secretary Venkatesh Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. Kannada Lecturer of Evening College Ashalatha mastered the ceremony.
