Mangaluru: Under POCSO Act 1577 cases registered across the state from 2012, till date. Wherein, 281 cases are disposed while 1,296 cases are pending. State government had already established fast track courts in all districts, all cases will finish within a year, said Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights T.B. Jayachandra said here.
Addressing in a press meet here in the District congress office on Tuesday Nov 11, he said that, Special Courts will be setup in all districts of Karnataka to deal with cases under POCSO Act. The government planning to create awareness among the public on law, he said,
The Information Department was already directed to telecast advertisements against child and other sexual harassments on television and other media.
Speaking about ban on tobacco the Minister said, the government appointed a special Public Prosecutor in Supreme Court. However, the farmers need not worry. We will ensure that remedial measures are taken if the verdict does not come in their favour.
The government will form new committee for Muzari temples after ending the tenure of present committees. The tenure of present committees will end in the month of February, he said,
