Mangaluru : A dharna will be held on September 13 in front of the Suratkal toll gate demanding announcement of a date for the official closure of the toll gate, informed Muneer Katipalla, Convenor of the Action Committee Against Suratkal toll gate

Addressing media persons on August 26, Friday, he said there is no way to believe the assurances of elected representatives as well as officials regarding removal of the toll gate. He said the NH Authority or the district administration must officially announce a date for the closure of the toll gate.

He said all the promises made in this regard so far have turned out false. In a latest officials have informed a recent DISHA meeting that the toll gate will be vacated within one month but have failed to mention the date. They will have to announce the date, or else on September 13 the toll gate will be picketed and a date will be announced by ourselves, he warned.

Committee leaders Dinesh Hegde Ulepady, Purushotham Chitrapur, Raghu Ekkar, M G Hegde, Pratibha Kulai were present.
