Mangalore : A woman named Vimala (50) was washed away in an overflowing drain at Kattepuni near Morgansgate on June 10, Monday.
If the woman was washed away at around 2.30 pm, her body was found at Bunder area in the evening.
So far, heavy rains have claimed a total of four lives in Mangalore. One Santosh Poojari had slipped into a lake in the outskirts of Mangalore last week, while two children had met a watery grave in a rain water filled pit at Ulaibettu on June 9, Sunday.
A house at Belthangady was completely damagd due to heav rains at Belthangady on June 8, while on June 9, Sunday, four houses were damaged at Someshwara, Mulki, Katipalla and Bajal areas.
Mangalore taluk has received the highest rainfall this year till June 10 by recording 589.8 mm. On June 9, Dakshina Kannada district received 19.9 mm rainfall.
