Mangalor : Police have arrested one Natasha (28) from Kodikal in connection with the murder of JD(S) fisheries wing leader Girish Putran of Hoige Bazaar. Girish was found dead on December 21. The arrested young woman was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody till February 23.
It is being said that though the police had arrested a main accused, a youth from Bolur a month ago, he was later released. He is said to be a government employee and has exerted his influence. It is suspected that Natasha used to hang out with this youth and there is a possibility of her, befriending Girish and eventually getting him killed for monetary gains after taking him to Permude to show some land.
As already reported, gold valuables worth over Rs one lakh and a cash of Rs 70000 which Girish had with him when he went missing, are also not found.
There is a possibility of police arresting another four to five persons in connection with the case. More details are awaited.
