Mangalore : Youth Congress party organized a protest against the failure of BJP to supply sufficient electricity to the state in front of Pandeshwar Mescom office on October1, Monday.
Addressing the protestors, KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza said that BJP when it came into the power had assured to provide free electricity to the farmers and has kept the state in the darkness.
The frequent power cut have created problems among the small scale industrialist, businessmen, women and students when the exams are closer.
Youth president Mithun Rai said that the BJP party had announced to give free electricity to the farmers during the budget and gained lot of publicity as a part of achievement. Prior to the rainy season, the BJP government had implemented the power cut for a week and announced free electricity, he added.
BJP government has not given any facilities to the poor so far as assured earlier. State Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje must resign from the post, he said.
The congress party will organize protest in front of more than 400 electricity office across the state today, he said.
Congress leaders Nagendra, Praveenchandra Alva, Arun Coelho, Tejaswi Raj and others were present.
