2 passengers robbed of gold, cash worth Rs 4.5 lakhs in Matsyagandha Express

Matsyagandha ExpressMangalore :Two friends who were travelling in a Mumbai Mangalore Matsyagandha express were robbed of their valuables worth Rs 4.5 lakhs by some strangers who offered them biscuits mixed with some intoxicants. Though the  incident took place on December 27 it was reported only on December 30, Sunday as the two victims were hospitalized for three days.

According to the complainants Naveen C Shetty of Karinja in Bantwal and Chandan of Tharupathi in Kundapur, four strangers got into their compartment at Chipunkar station and were eating biscuits and even offered them biscuits and forced them to eat them. They woke up only when the train reached Mangalore central station to find their valuables missing.

It is learnt they have lost two gold chains, four finger rings, a bracelet, mobile phone and a cash of Rs 27,000

The railway police have transferred the case to Chipunkar railway police authorities.
