Mangalore: Shree Venkatesha Shiva Bhakti Yoga Sangha organized a Late N N Suvarna Memorial Scholarship and Late Sorake Chandrashekar Memorial Scholarship and Annual Distribution of Scholarship to 200 students at Koragappa Kalyana Mantapa of Kudroli Shree Gokarnatheshwara Temple on October 26, Friday.
Former Union minister B Janardhana Poojary handed over scholarships to 200 students including doctors, engineers, Chartered Accountant, Post Graduate and graduates in three categories.
He also said that people must have the habit of helping others when they reach to a certain height in their status. If we help the poor, we will get it returns in double from others.
Speaking on Gokarnatheshwara College, he said that this college was established to give seats to those poor deserving students, who do not get seats other private colleges due to fees and donation.
He also said that further too, any poor students who want to pursue their education and struggle for the college seat can come to Gokarnatheshwara College and seats will be given without bias in caste and religion. The students securing above 75 percent will be given education at free of cost.
The students taking the scholarship from the donors must further help other poor students after getting a job, he said.
