Mangalore: Four members of All India Workers’ Union (ABKS) have started a 3- day fast on a platform built near DCO gates in front of SBI here, in a token of sympathy towards the 3-day fasting declared by Anna Hazare at Bandra-Kurla (MMRDA) grounds from Tuesday morning, Dec 27.
The fast is undertaken for a stronger Lokpal bill. This action is inspite of Centre’s advice to Anna to wait for the outcome of debate in Loksabha starting on Tuesday only, on moving the Lokpal Bill there.
The local workers on fast decalred that they would fast until the bill was passed by Lok Sabha after a strong debate. This fast would go on day and night, said Sudatta Jain, general secretary of Akhil Bharat Karmika Sangh today.
He also told that their aim was to get rid of all corruption in Dakshina Kannada district.
Some other organizations have lent support to this fast in sympathy. S. Jain Santhosh Kavoor, Raju Kulal and Chandrahas Shetty are the 4 persons on fast at DCO gates.
