Mangalore :  TM Kumar alias Sooryakumar, an under trial in Mangalore prison has reportedly assaulted a jailer named Vijayakumar  in the prison on September 3, Tuesday. It is learnt, he was speaking to one Pradeep Mendon, an accused in Bejai Raja murder case, when the jailer warned him against speaking to Pradeep.

This infuriated Sooryakumar who assaulted the jailer. The jailer has now lodged a complaint with the Barke police though Superintendent  Doddakamaiah reportedly asked him not tao make it a big issue. However senior officials say no such incident has taken place.

In an earlier case notorious don Rashid Malbari had also assaulted a jail staff over the issue of serving Biriyani.
