Karkala: A drunken intoxicated man stabbed a person at Bola-Nelliguri in Karkala taluk on July 10, Thursday night.

The deceased, Suresh Moolya (34) of Nelliguri is running a poultry farm in the Bola village. Ashok of the same village on Thursday late night started a quarrel with Suresh for a silly coconut purchase issue.

Locals said, Ashok who was under the influence of alcohol stabbed Suresh with a knife. Suresh’s younger sister listened to screams came out and she saw Suresh fallen in a pool of blood.

The help of locals Suresh shifted to Ajjarkad government hospital. But He breathed his last in the hospital.

A dispute over coconuts purchase concluded in death of Suresh.

Karkala Rural Police have arrested the Ashok Shetty. Investigation is on.
