Mangalore : As a part of clean city drive, Revenue department of Mangalore City Corporation cleared the scrap items stored on the road side at Bibi Alabi Road on September 12, Friday.
Health officer Manjaiah Shetty said that although the department had informed the scrap owners and given 15 days time to clear the scrap stored on the road side they have not taken action to clear it. Instead they have dumped more scrap making a public nuisance hence MCC has taken action against it.
Few shops owners blamed MCC officers for remaining silent against the owners of some shops and hoses who have acquired the footpath. While few were seen clearing their stock while the MCC officials was on their work.
Revenue officer Praveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Revenue department Pramila, along with Health department officials participated in the clearance operation.
