Mangalore : The district administration has decided to introduce pre-paid autorickshaw counters at Mangalore Junction (Kankanady) Railway Station very soon.
It s learnt that, the administration has taken the decision to solve the problem faced by the train passengers owing to the higher fares demanded by autorickshaw drivers. The RTA has sought quotations from parties interested in offering auto services.
The administration had established the pre-paid counters long back, but did not function due to various reasons continuing the problem of train passengers.
As a part of service, RTA laid a condition that counter must be open to serve the passengers round the clock and can charge a service fee of not more than Re 1.
As per the conditions laid down by the RTA, the counter has to be open round the clock and can charge a service fee of not more than Re 1 and must not exceed the fare fixed by the RTA.
The similar kind of pre-paid auto counter is already functioning at the Mangalore Central Railway Station.
