Malpe : The body of the fisherman Shivananda Kotian, who was missing since July 18, was traced at Kaipunjal in Uliyargoli village near Kaup on Monday.

According to the police, Kotian had gone out for fishing in a traditional boat with eight other fishermen from Malpe Padukere village on July 18.

Shivananda was the fisherman who went missing in the incident and after two days of intensive search operation, fighting turbulent sea and unfavorable weather, the body of Shivananda was retrieved on Monday near the Kaup yard.

Padukere Shanthinagar resident Ravi Kotian (35) had died in the boat mishap while Vijith (25) was rescued by fellow fishermen.
