Bantwal : The Town police team led by Venkatesh  Prasanna and Nanjegowda, SI’s, held 16 voters from Congress and BJP, in possession of 1.24 lakh rupees in cash and 20 mobile fans on the election day here by 3pm on Friday. Galthamajal, where this action took place is a ‘super-sensitive’ constituency.
Gangwars, it was stated, were possible if  these persons were not caught luring local voters with money to vote favorably. A Scorpio vehicle of BJP workers was seized.
Among the arrested there were only Hindus in BJP, whereas in congress side Muslims and Christians were found more in numbers than Hindus. 2 Tata Sumo vans, a Santro car and Rs54, 000 were seized from this gang by the DK police by noon.
