Mangaluru: “Central Labours Unions have called for a mass strike on September 2, 2016 against the negative policy of the Central government,” Naganath, General Secretary of HMS.
Addressing the media personnel on Wednesday he said that the decision of mass strike was taken in a national level convention held on March 30, 2016.
“We are demanding the implementation of our 17 demands. The government is attracting foreign based companies in the name of make in India. The government is imposing FDI in all the sectors. Unemployment is increasing day by day,” he said.
He further said that the government is not ready to hike the basic pay to Rs 18000. So, all the labours from across the country are staging strike on September 2. The labours union want the government to meet with their demands.
“There will be protest march on August 9 at 10 am from Mini Vidhan Soudha to the DC Office. Vehicles march will also be held on August 17, 18 and 19 across the district to spread the awareness about the strike,” he added.
