Mangaluru: “The third phase of ‘Swach Mangaluru’campaign organized by Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission will be flagged off on Gandhi Jayanti,” said Math President Jeethakamanada Swamiji.

Addressing the media personnel on Thursday, he said that 40 teams will take part in the campaign in 40 Sunday’s and 400 programmes will be conducted at various part of the city.

“The campaign will be inaugurated at 7.30 am on October 2. Ramakrishna Mission head office assistant General Secretary Swami Bodhasarananda Maharaj, NITTE University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde, Dr B M Hegde, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik and other guests will grace the event with their presence,” he said.

He further said that 75 poura karmika’s will be felicitated on the occasion. Cleaning kit to the 40 teams will also be presented on the occasion. A workshop on ‘clean mind clean India’ is held on the same day and Air vice Marshal Ramesh Karnik will be the resource person.

“More than 4000 volunteers are ready for the campaign. Rs 5 lakh has been spent to purchase the cleaning kit. More than 5000 t-shirts have been distributed. MRPL and NITTE educational institution have helped us,” he added.

Campaign assistant convener Eka Gamyananda, Capt Ganesh Karnik, Umanath Kotekar and others were present.
