Subrahmanya: Historical Kalkundha cow fair was inaugurated at Kalkundha Shree Basaveshwara Temple on Monday by the priests of the temple.

Priests performed Govu Pooje, thereby flagging off the cow fair. The cow fair is being organised on Karthika Hunnime (Karthika Full moon).

The cow fair was usually being held in a ground near the temple. Due to some clashes during the cow fair the fair was stopped for some time and from past four years the event is being organised in the temple itself.

Temple renovation Committee President Manohar Nala, Administrator Shivanna Gowda, Devanna Gowda Jadimane, Chinnappa Gowda, Girish Acharya and others were present.
