Mangaluru: “Ration coupon will be distributed in ration distribution centres from now onwards through service counters,” said food and civil supplies Minister U T Khader.
Addressing the press personnel on Tuesday, he said that this facility will be started in all ration centres before March 31. Coupon system was introduced for the transparent distribution of ration.
Further speaking about the APL card applications he said “in just four days 1,101 people from DK district has applied for APL ration cards. 74 from Belthangady, 95 from Bantwal, 791 from Mangaluru, 111 from Puttur, and 90 from Sullia taluk has applied for ration cards.”
“CM Siddaramaiah had assured to provide protein food to the public. So, pulses will be provided with rice, wheat and sugar. Soon CM will be inaugurating the service,” he said.
He further said that blue coloured kerosene oil distribution has been stopped now. Many people are demanding for it. So, it will be sold in open market. Interested distributors can approach district deputy director.
