New Delhi: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) of Govt of India arrested a Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan today and seized from him an undisclosed but huge amount of foreign currency after detaining him in an international Airport before he could leave. He will be remanded to custody after being produced in a court, revenue sources said. Rahat is facing revenue officials under a probe into the huge money he carried to fly to Pakistan, when he was detained on Sunday last by DRI.
Senior Pak Embassy Officials have visited the intelligence office to intercede on his behalf. Rahat had given concerts and attended awards functions in India, and was leaving for Pakistan with black money deposits. Over 100,000 US dollars were found and seized from 15 member troupe.
