Mangaluru : Veteran writer and researcher Sha. Shettar Inaugurated 15th edition of `Alva’s Nudisiri` at Vidyagiri in Moodbidri on November 16.
The three-day long literary conference will be presided by veteran litterateur Dr. Mallika S Ghanti.
Speaking after inauguration Sha. Shettar said that, the Kannada language is begin in fourth century, The first Halmidi inscription was in the Kannada language. Telugu people first used Kannada script. Sanskrit is also influenced by Kannada. There is a need to change this situation in order to safeguard the values of the constitution,” he said.
Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said, the programme is to spread the beauty of Kannada and its literature.
Prior to the programme, a grand procession was organised, which was the highlight of the programme.
Senior writer Mallika S Ghanti presided over the programme.
In her presidential speech said that, like triple talaq and ban on women into Sabarimala temple is sad to see not just men, but also women objecting to the verdict by the Supreme Court in these issues. those opposing the entry of women in the age group of 10 to 50 years into Sabarimala shrine must make sure that they too stay away from the women in the said age group.
“The customs and traditions of our society should not eat upon the rights of women. The administration of the country also should not allow injustice to women,” she added.
