Mangalore: The DK DCC chief Ramanath Rai of Bantwal asked Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav and City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, to proceed against those officials who gave a “false petition” against Congress Corporator Lancelot Pinto who was running an unauthorised Youth Social Service Charitable Trust.
He accused Bajrang Dal activists trespassing into trust premises to level false charges against Pinto, Rai charged. He warned the authorities that if they failed to take action against Bajrang Dal intruders, DCC will stage a public protest.
Rai accused Srikar Prabhu and MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik of instigating Bajrangi activists to trespass and accuse Pinto, as if they were parents of abused children (under illegal detention and trafficking). Rai charged Bajrangis of spreading disharmony in the society through their violent direct activities.
Rai accused the Bajrangis of creating insecurity in society during the raid on Trust premises with CMC chairperson Asha Nayak. Rai asked why one particular community was targeted by Sangh Parivar Unit, when several other orphanages were also run by other people.
U.T Khader Ullal MLA, accused Asha Nayak (CMC chief) as an agent of Bajrang Dal. He asked her to resign as she was not fit for CMC post, even as lawyer. She should pay visits to all orphanages and ashrams if she was in CMC, he taunted.
MLA Abhayachandra Jain (Moodabidri) said that April 30 was the last date for registering orphanages and child shelters, under J.J Act, so there was no need to conduct raid on Pinto’s orphanage (unregistered) till then by any body.
