Mangaluru : Former MLA J R Lobo said, the appointments  in MRPL should be made on the basis of the recommendations of Saroijini Mahishi report.

Speaking to reporters here on May 24, Monday he said the expectations of locals that MRPL would create more job opportunities have not been realised. He said of the 233 appointments made recently only 13 are from Karnataka and of them four are from the coastal district.

Lobo questioned why no preference was given to local eligible candidates. On the neglect of locals in appointment,  the statement that the appointment would be stayed is a political statement and MRPL has not issued any such statement.

Lobo questioned what the local parliamentarians were doing when injustice was done to locals.

Congress leaders Mahabala Marla, Prakash Salian, Vinayraj, Vishwas Das and others were present.
