Shivamogga : Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed hope that the Congress will win the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.
He was speaking at the Prajadhwani-2 Lok Sabha election campaign organized in Shivamogga city today on behalf of party candidate Geeta Shivaraj Kumar Sitting MP B. Y. Raghavendra is a waste as a parliamentarian who does not made the effort to speak in the parliament on behalf of the state and the district even though there is constant injustice meted out to the state. 25 MPs won by BJP never raised their voice for the state. He said that there is no benefit to you, the state or the district by making such people win, he said.
Modi will remember Karnataka during elections. The state was not remembered when there was drought and flood. Modi who is always treating the State unfairly is doing a great injustice by indulging in hate politics and showing step-motherly attitude. He said that Modi never made an effort to come to the state and listen to the hardships and well-being of the people when there was a flood or drought, the CM said.
BJP, government against poor, farmers, women
Modi has not fulfilled his promises in 10 years. did not bring the black money and credit 15 lakhs to everyone’s account, did not create 2 crore jobs, did not reduce the price of essential commodities. Acche Din did not come. The people of the country and the state are in trouble due to high inflation. Even though the farmers fought to waive off loans, pay fair prices and make laws for MSP, Narendra Modi did not budge. BJP is a government against the poor, farmers and women. That is why they have not come forward to solve their problems, he said.
Empowering the poor
We have implemented Shakti, Grilahakshmi, Grihajyoti, Annabhagya and Yuvanidhi schemes within eight months of coming to power. The Chief Minister recalled that a girl from Arasikere, who had travelled under the Shakti Scheme, made a garland from the tickets. Similarly, the Chief Minister also mentioned that a woman from Koppal bought a gold ring with the amount saved from Griha Lakshmi and Griha Jyoti scheme. He said that our government has done the work of empowering the poor.
If the Congress party comes to power at the centre, the guarantees announced in the manifesto will be implemented. He said that Congress and the government will be strengthened if the people vote for the Congress candidate.
He expressed his confidence that our candidate will win in Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.
BJP MPs did not raise their voice about the problem of the state
Voters should elect those who work as the voice of Karnataka in the Lok Sabha. 25 MPs from the state were elected by the BJP, but no one spoke about the injustice done to the Kannadigas by the Centre. The state was treated unfairly in tax distribution. He said that although 5300 crore was announced in the Union Budget for the Upper Bhadra Project, not even a single paisa was released.
NDRF relief is not alms to the state, it is our right
Even though the state was facing a severe drought situation, the Centre did not release drought relief. In Karnataka, 48 lakh hectares of crops were destroyed and the farmers suffered a loss of 35 thousand crores. 34 lakh farmers were compensated with 2000 each from our resources.
As per NDRF guidelines, a request for drought relief of Rs 18172 crore was submitted. NDRF compensation is not alms to the state, it is our right.
He expressed indignation that in response to the struggle in the Supreme Court challenging the injustice to the state, the central government has given only Rs 3454 crores and continues to betray it again and again.
AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, AICC Former President Rahul Gandhi, KPCC President DK Shivakumar, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, Minister Madhu Bangarappa, MLAs Gopalakrishna Belur, BK Sangamesh, Legislative Council Member and Party Working President Manjunath Bhandari, District Congress President Prasannakumar along with district leaders were present.
