Mangalore: About 200 orphan children from five different orphanages in port city assembled at Kankanadys Fatima Retreat to celebrate Christmas festival on Sunday.

They came from Bhagini Samaj, Zeenath Bakhsh (Bunder), and Infant Mary, Kulshekhar, Bal Yesu Nilaya of Maryhill and several other orphanages.

Fr. Ronnie Prabhu guidedthe event as Director of the House. After prayer and lighting of a lamp, Fr. Francis D’souza welcomed the guests, and gave a message for Christ’s birthday.

Lilly Miranda of Jeppu conducted the programmed.

Songs, dances, skits and many other group play activities were gone through.

Fr. R. Prabhu distributed prizes to all participants. A school bag and pack of candies to every orphan were provided by donors.

Ligory Fernandes took charge of this event. Ronnie Saldanha played Santa Claus to keep the kids in giggles, with his comic manners.
