Mangalore: She acts in Bhojpuri (akin to Hindi) dialect films by the dozen. Now, producer Rama Shetty has brought her into Tulu filmworld with a stellar role of Ambika, which has given her a lot of satisfaction.
Shetty has made only excellent choices of actors, actresses, music, lyrics and songs she extols.
Besides, there is a blend of city life with rural living, faith and devotion in divinity, sceneries with a natural beauty splash across the screen, a well-told story, all these will make this new Tulu film a great-success, she informs, with a winsome smile.
She got an opportunity in 2006, to act in “Bairee Piya”, a film in Bhojpuri (MP). It became a hit picture and earned a critics’ award too.
She entered DD1 in a serial called “Mai Banoongi Miss India”, which scored a fine success. Several Bhojpuri films with her roles became hits subsequently.
In 2011, 6 Bhojpuri films with her in the lead roles, have been super hits. She has also acted in Marathi and Gujerathi langage films.
She was the “best actress” for 2 years in Bhojpuri productions. She did 40 films in 4 years! She received “Bihari Asmita” award for this achievement.
She studied in Suburban Mumbai in her school days, and participated in inter-collegiate stage competitions. She is a Commerce graduate, who could not complete her C.A. studies, in view of Cinema commitments.
She has been invited by Big B and Jana B act in their “Gangadevi” Hindi picture in 2012.
She has acted in ‘woman of the Era’ in Bollywood, and this may be released on Women’s International Day, on 8th March 2012, she says.
It is selected for 14th South Asian film festival award on its show.

She is gratefull to Producer Rama Shetty for giving her a break in Tulu. She came over to Tulunadu, to do the film which could be a great hit soon, she adds.
