Mangalore: NITTE Celebration Mangalore ½ Marathon & 10 K, a running event from Celebration Run Series was held at Panambur Beach on , January 29, Sunday

The event is organized by Life is Calling Sports. Nitte University and Nitte Education one of the pioneering Educational Institutions in Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka is the sponsor of the event. 

The Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project has supported the event. Noted Cine Actor Likith Shetty has attended the event.
 
Runners came from various parts of India and also saw participation from international runners from Kenya and Ethiopia.
 
The running event also had live music bands and folk dance groups featured at regular intervals along the running route adding momentum to the fun and ambience.

NITTE Celebration Mangalore ½ Marathon & 10 K had 21 KM Half Marathon, 10 KM and 5 KM running categories. 21 Km and 10 KM were in the competitive category whereas 5 KM was in the non-competitive category.

The top three winners in the 21 KM running- Open Category are:

Under Men’s Category

First Position: Yared Admasu Miratu,24,Ethiopia won a cash amount of Rs 30,000.

Second Position: Abebe Sitine,21,Ethiopia won a cash amount of Rs. 20,000 .

Third Position: Soji Mathew, 30, Kerala won a cash amount of Rs.15,000 .

Under Women’s Category

First Position: Juma Khatum,23,Bangalore won a cash amount of Rs 30,000.

Second Position: Chaitra, 20, Alvas won a cash amount of Rs. 20,000.
Third Position: Deepika A, 20, Alvas won a cash amount of Rs.15, 000.

First prize winners in the 21 KM Senior Category

Under Men’s Category

Jean-Bennoit, 54, France won a cash amount of Rs. 10,000.
Under Women’s Category

Seema Pardeshi, 52, Pune won Rs.10,000.

First Position: Pritam K Bind,27,Bangalore won a cash amount of Rs.15,000.

Second Position:Krishanapa,20,Alvas won a cash amount of Rs. 10,000.
Third Position: Basavaraj MT,21, Alvas won a cash amount of Rs. 5, 000.

Under Women’s Category

First Position:  Priyanka Singh Patel, 24,Varanasi, UP amount of Rs 15,000.

Second Position: Smitha C,22, Alva won a cash amount of Rs. 10,000.
Third Position: Sujatha AS, Alva won a cash amount of Rs. 5, 000.
First prize winners in the 10 KM under Senior Category

Under Men’s Category

Ramaya MM,55,Mangalore won a cash amount of Rs. 7,500.

Under Women’s Category

Prema Winston,Dakshina Kannada District won a cash amount of Rs. 7,500.

There was also a special prize for Runners from Dakshina Kannada District participating in 21Kms Half Marathon and 10 Kms.

The runners from Dakshina Kannada District who won the prizes under both Open Category and Special Prize Category.
