Mangalore: Medical negligence is on the increase with more hospitals, and less training, more greed and less service on the part of doctors in desperation.
A 40 year old man, Anil Raj, a painting contractor, fainted at his residence I Bikarnakatte near Nathoor on Monday morning, and was rushed to vijaya clinic for treatment. He lost his lift after admission on the same day, Jan. 30 (Martyss’Day). It is alleged to be a case of medical negligence in private hospitals.
His blood pressure was found to be low, but to bring it under control clinic doctors gave an injection, when sugar level rose suddenly, say members of Raj`s family in sorrow.
The doctors did not know Raj had diabetes! He died around 3.30 PM and doctors stated that they had no other go under emergency, than the injection (that took his life ultimately). It was doctors` failure to detect Raj`s diabetes that killed him, Raju`s family members charged.
Bunder CI Vinay Gaonkar and Ramakrishna, an officer, arrived to calm the situation.
