Mangalore : In the monthly meeting of Dalits arranged by the police department police commissioner’s office on Feb 26 Sunday, the Dalit community expressed their unhappiness by holding one-hour dharna at the venue.
The members complained that they are not getting justice in spite of voicing their problems at these meetings. They said that day by day the assault on Dalits are increasing in the district and police officials are not taking any action against the offenders.

Further complaining that the police are giving B reports even after receiving their complaints, they alleged that the Bajrang Dal is influence the police department and that, under these circumstances, these monthly meetings are useless.
Dalit leaders Lingappa Nanthoor, said that former ACP Ravindra Gadadi has become the victim of a conspiracy and the department has made him powerless. In response to this DCP (crime) Dharmaiah said that since this was a departmental issue, it has nothing to do with the Dalit community. He also urged the Dalit leaders to focus on issues concerning only Dalits.
DCP (law and order), Inspectors Thilakchandra, Anantha Padmanabha, Ramesh Nayak, ACP T. R. Jagannath, and many other police officers were present at this meeting.
