Bangalore: The authoritative result of Central Kannada Sahitya Parishat President’s post may be out only on May 2, next Wednesday, but indications already point to Pundalik Halambi(of D K origins) in Bangalore, a Union leader and former treasurer of KSP, since a decade working as KSP office-bearer, is gaining the upper hand to win the post.
In Bangalore there was only 37% voting on April 29 whereas in various districts (28) all over Karnataka, an average 70% voting is reported.
All these elections have been completed in proper time and district results are coming out even on Sunday.
Halambi is reported to have scored over his rivals like ex-president Chandrasekhar Patil in many of the 30 districts in the state, only an official declaration is new awaited.
For Patil, it will be his second defeat at the top post, as before becoming once Resident in 2006, he was defeated by Harikrishna Punarooru once in 2003.
Over 1.08 Lakhs of members-voters of KSP in 192 voting booths secured 2 slips each, on showing their ID cards , and voted for Central and district chiefs.
Hulikal Natraj won in Bangalore rural, Somashekhar Bisalwadi in Chamraj Nagar, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura in DK, Shivappa Kuri in Gadag, Lingaraj Angodi in Dharwad, Veeranna Ninagaje in Koppal, N. Surendra Adiga in Udupi, and Thimmesh in Bangalore city. The KSP is undergoing dynamic changes this year after a consolidating effort made in 2003-05
