Mangalore: The Forum Against Atrocities on Women (FAAW) which has prepared a fact finding report on the recent Morning Mist home stay attack in Mangalore, has submitted the report to National Commission for Women member Shamina Shafiq who is in Mangalore to probe the case, on August 16, Thursday.
The FAAW delegation including Sabiha Bhoomigowda, Vidya Dinker, Parinitha Shetty, Gulabi Bilimale also submitted a memorandum to the NCW member seeking to cancel the State Women’s Commission report on the homestay attack.
The memorandum said that the FAAW was not happy with the report submitted to the State government by the State Women’s Commission and described it as biased.
“The report was prepared without meeting all the victims of the attack and without taking into consideration their grievances. In addition, there has been a deliberate attempt in the report to slander both the victims as well as their parents. Despite the police denying it, the report has stated that a rave party was taking place at the home stay. The report is deliberately trying to lead one astray with regard to the facts of the incident by creating and highlighting certain false information about the event and glossing over what actually happened at the home stay on that day,” the memorandum said.
