Mangalore: At the SC/ST grievance redressal meet held on Sunday, several Dalit leader made an appeal to SP Abhishek Goel to take steps to even see to it that officials from the social welfare and reveue departments too attended t he meeting.

Their argument was that most of the grievances pertaining to Dalits were regarding land issues and implementation of welfare departments.

Reacting to the appeal, the SP said he would write to the departments concerned. At the same time, the SP appealed to the Dalit representatives to bring only cases pertaining to law and order before the meeting.
