Mangalore:  Jayalakshmi, a teacher of Yenepoya School, Jeppinamogaru met a tragic end in a road accident near Kuntikan on the NH 66 on the night of October 10, Wednesday.

The mishap took place when Jayalakshmi, along with her husband Ashok Kumar, also a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Panambur and three other teachers were on way to their residence in Panambur in their car. A speeding tanker in a bid to overtake collided against the car which was also moving in the same direction. The car was toppled and a seriously injured Jayalakshmi was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to injuries.

Her husband and other others in the car who sustained injuries, have been hospitalized.

Traffic police have registered a case.
