Mangalore : CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member  MA Baby met Kasturi channel reporter Naveen Soorinje on December 27, Thursday at the Prisoners’ cell of the Wenlock Hospital, where Naveen has been admitted recently after he developed chicken pox symptoms.

The CPI(M) leader who spoke to reporters later said it was shocking to note that a journalist has been arrested merely because he reported the homestay attack masterminded by Sangh Parivar organizations.

The arrest of Naveen and his remaining behind bar for so many days  was nothing short of an emergency like situation, he said and added the Freedom of Press has been violated. He chose to blame the state government for Naveen’s arrest solely because he was present at the spot of the homestay attack.

He was also highly critical of the Made Snana and the discrimination in temples while serving food to devotees and urged for a ban on  them.
