Mangalore : A Coastal Security Policeman who was on  night duty at the Bappanadu checkpost at Mulki lost his life in a tragic hit and run case in the early hours of April 5, Friday. The mishap took place when t he cop named Rajappa(27) hailing from Honnali in Davangere was checking a vehicle.

A lorry knocked him down killing him on the spot. It escaped the scene of the accident which took place at around 3 am.

 Rajappa, a Coastal Security Police of 2008 batch  was first posted in Sullia and later in Mulki. He has left behind his wife who is a teacher.

Mulki police have registered a case.
