Mangalore : Former corporator and KJP leader Mariamma Thomas has bid good bye to the Karnataka Janatha Party of former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa.
The senior leader who was the popular face of KJP spoke to reporters in Mangalore on April 25, Thursday and said she was quitting fed up with the infighting in the KJP. She further said she will be supporting Mangalore South Congress candidate JR Lobo in the upcoming Assembly elections.
She said though she has an invitation from the Congress, she has not yet decided on joining the party.
To a question as to why she had earlier decided to join the KJP, Mariamma Thomas said she was inspired by the developmental works done by former CM Yeddyurappa during his tenure. At the same time, she charged Mangalore South MLA Yogish Bhat of failing to work for the development of the city during his tenure.
