Mangalore: A University Grants Commission (UGC) sponsored 2-day national convention on Physics, physical science research and its applications, was due on Sept.16 and 17 at Surakal Govind Das FG college, its physics department as the host, in formed on Tuesday. Vice-principal Prof. T. Purna announcing the event revealed that Mangalore University Vice-chancellor Shivshankar Murthy has agreed to inaugurate the national conference.
Deepak Mathur, Senior scientist from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai has been asked to deliver the key note address. Reputed scientists working in Bangalore, Chennai, and Mumbai, will present papers and deliver talks, Prof.Purna informed. Hundreds of scientists, researchers, graduates and undergraduates, engineers and science students have evinced interest in participation in this current advancement in physics research and applications.
