Mangalore : In an incident of moral policing, a photo editor, belonging to a Hindu community was assaulted by a group of ten activists for conversing with a girl belonging to a Muslim community on Oct 7, Tuesday.
The assaulted victim has been identified as Ragavendra Achar (38) owner of ‘Frontline Designer’ shop located at Kunil Centre, Hampankatte.
Achar said that the group had assaulted him, since he was speaking to the Muslim girl who had come to the office to edit the photo.
The group also threatened to kill him and looted Rs 50,000 from the shop after destroying it.
Achar who was injured is recovering in the government hospital.
Mangalore North police arrived at the spot and investigated the matter.
The police are in search of the assaulters.
