Mangalore :  Beary Sahitya Academy President Rahim Uchil has said that  there were plans to have a Beary Bhavan in Mangalore.

Participating in Pernal Sandola programme organised at the Town Hall in Mangalore on September 8, Saturday,  he said a 0.27 acre land has been identified for the purpose  and that the centre would be beneficial for those interested in learning the Beary language.

Uchila said the Academy would also urge the government to set up a cell for Beary studies.The programme  was inaugurated by Monappa Bhandary, MLC by beatiing the traditional “duff” percussion instrument. Beary songs and cultural programmes were held.
