ACSA hold semi-nude protest against carryover system in polytechnic course

students protestMangalore : The members of All College Students Association (ACSA) staged a semi-nude rally to protest the change in the carryover system in polytechnic courses on August 11, Saturday.

The members organized a procession from Jyothi Circle to the deputy commissioner’s office to urge the government to find a solution for their problems.

Addressing the protestors at DC Office, member Dinkar Shetty said that according the latest government circular issued to state technical education directorate on the carry over system has put the students in trouble.

students protestHe also said that as per the circular issued on July 23 by the government, a student if failed in more than eight subjects are not qualified to be admitted to the next academic year. Hence hundreds of students will face problem due to the new governmental policy.

students protestHe urged the state government to change its decision and allow all students to continue their study even if they are failed in all subjects.

Criticizing DK in charge minister C T Ravi, he said that the students are fighting against this issue from past 28 days and also organized 12hrs hunger strike, but still government is not bothered about it. If he is not capable to solve the students problem, then he is not fit to the post, hence he must resign from the post of District in charge minister.

He also said that they have given the memorandum to Deputy Speaker N Yogesh Bhat and have hope in him to solve the problem by discussing it in the assembly.

Members like Uttham Alva, Shipal RAJ, Arun, Kiran, Shamith, Dharmaraj, Srikanth and Sachin were present.
