Mangalore : Two staff of Global Management Agency, a company entrusted with the task of loading cash into ATMs, who were arrested on May 6 and were in police custody were produced before the court on May 10, Friday and remanded to judicial custody.
The police have seized Rs 10 lakh from the arrested namely Anilraj and Gautam. Earlier, reports said they had stolen cash worth Rs 48.5 lakhs from ATMs. It is learnt, the remaining amount was spent by them on travelling across the country and also for purchasing costly mobile phones.
It is learnt the two who used to load cash to ATMs as per the instructions give to their employer who was employed by the ICICI Bank, later in the night, after disabling the CC Cameras used to steal cash from ATM centres since the past ten months.
The cheating came to light when the audit of ICICI company and the Global Management Company revealed a mismatch of accounts.
Investigations are in progress.
