Mangaluru : A Special Court, established under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act 2000, has extended the judicial custody of underworld don Bannanje Raja till December 16.

The district principal and sessions judge extended Raja’s custody after he was produced before the court. Security was beefed up in and around the court premises when Raja was brought to the court from the prison. The underworld don, who is lodged at the Central Prison in Hindalga, Belagavi, is facing around 40 murder cases, including that of the Karwar-based businessman R N Nayak.
