Mangalore :  Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore, recently laid the foundation for  the new  building of the Church of St John the Baptist at Kokkada near Puttur.

Fr Gerald D’Souza, Deanery of Puttur Vicar, Fr Ronald Lobo, Parish Priest of  Kokkada  Church, Fr Melwyn Lobo, Assistant Parish Priest, Cyril D’Souza, Parish Council Vice President and others were present on the occasion.

The initiative to construct a new building was taken as the existing church building was old and could not accommodate  the increasing number of people visiting the church.
