KumaraswamyMangaluru: Yettinahole project won’t workout as it is difficult to get enough water from Yettinahole to supply the same to drought hit Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts and the project is being implemented only to supply money for congress leaders from the funds released for the implementation of the project, said JDS Karnataka Sate president HD Kumaraswamy speaking to the press reporters here in Mangaluru city on Sunday.

Yettinahole project plan was prepared and implemented at a cost of Rs 8864 crore in 2012 by then chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda. Therefore, BJP has no ethical right to speak against Yettinahole project which is being implemented in the state at present, he pointed out.

If JDS comes into power in the next state assembly elections, then it would definitely stop the Yettinahole project and would start separate irrigation project for Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts, he assured.
