Mangaluru: As per the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to go on a hunger strike to protest against the washout of the recent Budget session due to pandemonium created by the opposition, the BJP leaders of DK district unit led by MP Nalin Kumar have sat on a hunger strike in front of the Gandhi statue near Town Hall on April 12, Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nalin said the Congress was staking the interests of the nation over petty politics. He also alleged that the Congress which ruled the nation for several years has failed to abide by the constitution.
He also accused it of pursuing a divide and rule policy. He further claimed that the government led by PM Modi was striving to realise Gandhiji’s vision of Grama Swarjaya.
BJP leaders Capt Ganesh Karnik, Yogish Bhat, Monappa Bhandari, Brijesh Chowta, Umanath Kotian, Harikrishna Bantwal, Dr Bharath Shetty and others participated in the protest.
