BSY says his KJP would contest local body elections too

Yeddyurappa PressMangalore : KJP President and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has said that his party would even contest the local body elections.

Speaking to reporters at the Circuit House in Mangalore on December 12, Wednesday he said  his party would give preference to minorities, backward classes and youth while selecting candidates for the next elections. He said his party would contest all the 224 assembly seats.

Yeddyurappa once a staunch RSS man also said he would not like to comment on the RSS now that he has launched his own political outfit. He said during his chief ministership, he had not spared anyone, and punished culprits responsible for the church attacks too.

He strongly advocated the necessity of a  regional party for the development of the state. He also accused the centre of always favouring Tamil Nadu on the Cauvery issue.

 Yeddyurappa said a panel consisting eminent writer Jnanpeeth award winner UR Ananthamurthy, Chandrashekhar Patil GN  Patil, Mumtaz Ali Khan  has agreed to give suggestions to the KJP to help in making the state a better place to live and added his party would consider including the recommendations in its election manifesto.

 He also stated that district level committees and office bearers of the party would be formed very soon.

Ramachandra Baikampady, Mariamma Thomas, Azeez Baikampady and others who recently joined the KJP were present.
